In order to help new students better understand the laboratory and integrate into the laboratory as soon as possible, the laboratory held an annual orientation event on September 19, 2024 at A807, Xinzhi Building, High-tech Zone, University of Science and Technology of China, with a total of 13 teachers and students participating, including 5 new students including Deng Jie'an, Hu Xuanyi, Xiong Yifu, Feng Minjie, Gao Haotian, 7 old students including Huang Yimeng, and Teacher Tan.
The event was divided into two parts: laboratory introduction and orientation icebreaker game.
Basic introduction to the laboratory
In order to better help students complete their studies and facilitate their school life, the laboratory has set up four scientific research groups, including passive computing, passive network, smart medical care and smart society, and has established a series of relatively complete public service systems, with the office, organization department and scientific research department responsible for related affairs.
First of all, we invited the leaders of the four groups to introduce the main research directions and work priorities of each group, so that students can understand the research topics of the laboratory and choose their own learning routes as soon as possible. Then we invited the heads of the three departments to introduce the main work content of each department to the students: the office mainly introduced the conference organization, financial reimbursement, official document signing, enrollment, inline and other matters; The organization department mainly introduced the award evaluation, learning points management, station equipment management and other matters; The scientific research department mainly introduces degree management, thesis management, project application, patent application and other matters. Every work in the public service is to serve the students, and it is closely related to everyone's study and life, and after the whole seminar, the students have gained a lot and have a deeper understanding of the laboratory.

Welcome icebreaker game
In order to promote communication between new and old students in the laboratory, the laboratory has specially prepared an icebreaker game to bring everyone closer in a relaxed and interesting way. We have set up three game items, which are straight talk and back, you compare and I guess, listen to the lyrics and read the music, and the game is carried out in the form of groups, which are divided into 3 groups.
In the game, all the students showed their skills to make their teams win, which not only tested everyone's imagination and creativity, but also allowed the students to shorten the distance between each other in laughter. Through observation and interaction, the students gradually broke the strangeness of the first meeting and began to feel the tacit understanding and cooperation of the team. The game went on to keep everyone entertained and laid the groundwork for the rest of the conversation. In the game, each team actively participated, competing to answer, the atmosphere was warm, and laughter came and went, but Li Jiuwei showed extreme control of the game and showed "crushing" strength to the other students present. In the game of listening to lyrics and recognizing songs, everyone's musical cells were mobilized, and the familiarity of many students with the songs made us impressed. In this process, it not only added a lot of fun, but also allowed everyone to experience the fun of cooperation in a cheerful atmosphere. In the end, each team received different rewards according to the different points obtained in each game session.
Through this freshman gathering, the students not only fully understood the laboratory system, but also promoted the communication and exchange between the students, and helped the new students adapt to the life of graduate students as soon as possible. Although the event was limited, the enthusiasm and energy of everyone made this gathering an unforgettable memory.
