Successful Freshman Orientation Event Held in 2022

To enhance communication and understanding between new and old Laboratory classmates, create a united and lively atmosphere in the laboratory, and provide students with a break from research and study, the laboratory held the 2022 Freshman Orientation at the U Love Party House from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on September 30, 2022. More than 20 teachers and students from the laboratory participated in the event.

At 9:00 am, the event began, and students freely engaged in activities. With the help of the hardware facilities provided by the party house, students chatted and laughed in front of mahjong tables, card tables, and game consoles, enjoying themselves. At the same time, Shixin Wang prepared a delicious lunch for the students in the kitchen. From procurement to cutting and cooking, he demonstrated his culinary skills, and a variety of delicious foods were served in front of the teachers and students. During lunch, teachers and students introduced themselves briefly, and then everyone chatted about past experiences and future plans.

After a short break, under the organization of the host Jiuwei Li, students participated in six games, including City Edition Radish Squat, I Hear Your Voice, Telepathy, Chopstick Ping Pong, 5 Mao 1 Kuai, and Word Storm. During the games, students got to know each other better and showed their youthful energy. In the end, Team 1, led by Yimeng Huang, won the victory, and Prof. Gong awarded the team an honor certificate. Each student in Team 1 received a reward of 50 learning points. At around 4:00 pm, the event ended in a happy atmosphere. Teachers and students in the laboratory took a group photo together, and the overall atmosphere was harmonious and friendly, like a big family.
